A Panhard bar is the final component in our Maximum Motorsports suspension upgrade. The bar helps keep the rearend housing locked in position by limiting its side-to-side movement. When combined with the torque arm, the Panhard completes a new three-link rear-suspension setup that takes a ‘79-’04 ’Stang’s rear-upper control arms out of the equation. Before installing the Panhard bar, Grant takes measurements (of the distance between the tires’ sidewall and the edge of the body) on both sides of the car, which will be used to determine where the rearend should be positioned when we’re finished with the install.
