Pay close attention to the location of the wiring attached to the transmission. You will need a door panel tool to detach these wires. Disconnect the catalyst monitor and output shaft speed sensors on the right side. Notice the wire for the left side CMS and reverse lamp switch must run over the top of the transmission. When reinstalling it, you will need to loop it over the top of transmission after raising it into place. You can’t get it over the trans once it’s bolted in place as clearance between the floorpan is minimal. The skip-shift solenoid is located on the top, next to the shifter support arm on the right side of the transmission. Remove the four nuts retaining the subframe cross-brace. You don’t have to remove it, however it adds a bit of clearance when the tranny drops off the guide bushings.
