14 2013 Shelby Gt500 Total Package
|
With the exception of driving in snow--the engineers swear the GT500 does just fine in the white stuff given the right tires and the stock clutch-pack Traction-Lok differential--the hot setup is the Torsen differential in the Performance Package. It channels the GT500's prodigious power to the ground without wheelspin or excessive understeer on corner exit. Interestingly, the Boss 302 and GT500 share the identical Torsen unit with a Ford-specified 2.8:1 torque bias ratio and zero pre-load. For normal street driving or an emphasis on drag launches, the standard Trac-Lok with six carbon fiber clutch packs is less expensive and does well. View Related Article
