Power Steering Steered Straight

Fox and SN-95 tie rods differ in overall length to accommodate their respective outer tie-rod ends, but otherwise they interchange. The Fox tie rod is shorter and has a darker inner end. The Fox tie rod also typically uses a roll pin for extra security, unlike the SN-95 tie rod. The holes for the roll pin are visible in the close-up photo. The crew at Maximum says they are almost certain the roll pin is used only on Fox racks, but there is some anecdotal evidence to the contrary as Ford may have used up old Fox tie-rod supplies on early SN-95s.
