Edelbrock’s dyno mule actually shows an early layout to the drive belt, tensioner and idler pulleys, but it’s close to production. The new, stronger idler has a longer throw than the stocker, and has plenty of belt wrap. Edelbrock uses expensive Gatorback belts, “because they are the best.” Even with diminutive 2.750-inch blower pulleys on some of its GM kits they’ve never had one of these six-rib belts slip.
