The first of many, the prototype long-tube headers (PN 1633 chrome, $549.99; PN16330 polished ceramic, $649.99; PN 16335 stainless, $799.99) BBK made for the 5.0 were built from 0.065-inch wall thickness, 15/8-inch mild steel tubing. Like most off-the-shelf aftermarket headers, they make no real attempt at equal length, but simply isolating the exhaust pulses with suitably long tubes pays handsome tuning dividends.
