Boss 340 Dream Engine Build - Born-Again Boss

Boss 340 Engine Oil Pan Gasket
After mounting a Melling high-volume oil pump, FilPro's tow-piece oil-pan gasket is positioned, and the passenger -side piece is notched at the no.4 main cap to alleviate a clearance problem between the edge of the cap and gasket. If this isn't done, we're bound to have an oil leak at this area of the pan.
 Boss 340 Engine Oil Pan
Once the pickup tube is in place, Canton's Fox Drag Pro Power aluminum oil pan is set down over ARP studs. We like this pan because it's lightweight and features windage-controlling crank scarpers and kick-outs that will keep sloshing oil in check and away from the crankshaft.
 Boss 340 Engine Intake Manifold
We gave you the lowdown on this one-of-a-kind intake manifold in our last report on the Boss 340/ Wilson Manifolds took a vintage Boss 302 intake and masterfully manipulated it to full compatibility with the Edelbrock 351 Cleveland heads and performed all the necessary plumbing and welding to convert the OG carburetor manifold to EFI/ We're using a combination of ARP studs and bolts to secure the intake.
 Boss 340 Engine Core Plug
Screw-in core plugs (and oil-gallery plugs) are unique throwbacks to the original Boss 302 era. They use O-rings to ensure they're snug in their bores.
 Boss 340 Engine Throttle Body
Wilson's 4150 billet, carb-style throttle body sits like a trophy atop the company's 2-inch, tapered, lightweight spacer. The throttle body and spacer are both four-hole pieces. Together, they flow more than 1,135 cfm of air into our Boss 340.
Boss 340 Engine Air Fuel Spark
Air, fuel, and spark for our Boss 340 will be managed by ACCEL's new Thruster EFI DFI system. The sequential management system relies on this dual-synch distributor (PN 77201), which generates a cam and crank signal.
Boss 340 Engine Distributor Boss 340 Engine Fuel Injectors
A set of eight 48-bl/hr fuel injectors form ACCEL (PN 150848) are the main fuel providers for each cylinder. Their low-mass disc design helps the injectors accurately meter fuel at low- and high-duty cycles. We learned a lot about the injectors' duty cycles with our T-top coupe's engine. ACCEL's Elie Nahed helped us with choosing the 48-pounders for the Boss 340.

It's dyno time, baby.
