After discovering a loose rocker arm during a routine inspection of the supercharged engine, Editor Steve Turner decided a valvetrain upgrade was in order for our '89 Real Street LX coupe's 306. Former 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords Tech Editor Mark Houlahan was kind enough to handle installing Crane Cams' new Pro-Series shaft-mount, 1.7 rocker arms (PN 448145/intake; $50 each and 448235/exhaust; $50 each) for us. The aluminum rockers feature polymer-matrix composite bearings and a micro-finished shaft for exceptional strength and considerably less friction.
