Tremec Tko 600 Tranny Tailshaft Plug
|
Before removing the driveshaft, either drain the transmission of it's fluid, or have a tailshaft plug at the ready, since you will lose fluid from the rear of the transmission when removing the driveshaft. After the driveshaft is out, you should measure from the ground to the center of the output shaft on the transmission to find the factory driveline installation height. When installing the new TKO, you can use this measurement to shim or adjust the crossmember to maintain the same angle. Now you can unbolt the transmission crossmember (with the transmission supported by a jack) from the transmission and the body and lower the transmission enough to access all of the bellhousing bolts.
