Aftermarket Mustang Headlamp Housing Stock Light Removal
Unlike Fox Mustangs, there are only two lights per side to remove on '94-'98 Mustangs. Begin with the side-marker assembly by removing the metric nut found on the inside of the inner fender. Once this retaining nut is removed, pull the lamp free of the two retaining pegs and disconnect the bulb socket from the lamp.

The main headlamp body is retained by one U-clip in the outboard upper corner and two self-locking retainers built into the headlight adjusters. Pull the U-clip free with a pair of needle-nose pliers or a flat-blade screwdriver.

To free the headlamp assembly, the two remaining retainers must be squeezed in far enough to clear the header panel opening. A pair of long needle-nose pliers will do the job. Here, I'm demonstrating what needs to be done to remove the lamp. Have patience so as to not damage the header panel.
