Before the tank can be completely removed from under the rear of the Mustang, the three fuel lines must be disconnected. There is a pressure and return line on the pump and a vent hose farther forward on the tank. The return line requires a special tool such as the one shown here, but if need be, you can break the small duckbill clip out of the return line to facilitate tool-free removal since the BBK pump kit comes with a replacement clip.
