Auto Meter's '99-'02 Mustang GT instrument cluster comes complete with the gauges already assembled in their housing. The gauge lens is included. Simply take apart your stock cluster and swap in the Auto Meter cluster section.

Auto Meter began working on the '99-'02 Lunar Series gauge cluster in late September 2001. According to the company, a '94-'98 version is coming soon. However, as of this writing, the word on an '87-'93 version is iffy due to the mechanical odometer and the availability of Ford housing parts. An exchange program might be the answer for the '87-'93 version.
Gauges are one of the most useful aftermarket accessories for your Mustang's interior. Not only do they offer increased accuracy, but also their looks play a vital part in interior modifications. With choices ranging from different colored faces to electro-luminescent displays, digital readouts, mechanical and electrical versions, and more, the hardest part is deciding which gauges you want to install.

Probably the most difficult part of this project is getting the headlight knob off the switch shaft. Use a pocket screwdriver in the recessed slot of the knob to pull toward you. Doing so will push on a small metal retainer, and with some effort, the knob will pull off.
For the '87-'93 crowd, gauge installations were typically made via plastic "gauge pods," either alongside the A-pillar area or atop the main dash assembly. These areas are still used for gauge installation in the '94-and-later Mustangs. The one area that has been difficult to reconfigure or customize has been the factory gauge cluster itself. There have been a few attempts at custom gauge clusters for the Fox and SN-95 dashes, but these products usually omitted some of the factory warning lights or indicators, while the gauges required their own sending units to be used. The only simple alternative was replacement gauge overlays to change the gauge's face colors.
Until now, there hasn't been an easy, direct-replacement dash cluster for the Mustang. In 2001, after gauging interest from dealers and owners, Auto Meter Products set out to make one. The company's new Mustang gauge cluster (PN 7001) was designed for '99-'02 Mustangs as a direct, plug-in replacement without calibrating, cutting, or modifications of any kind. Included in the cluster are speedometer, tachometer, fuel, water, oil, and volt gauges (in their stock locations), the new Auto Meter Lunar Series face (white during the day and a green glow at night), and bright-orange pointers for a great look day or night.
After installing this cluster in a '99 GT convertible, we have to say it's one of the easiest projects we've done in a long time.
 With the headlight knob out...  With the headlight knob out of the way, remove the dash trim panel to access the factory gauge cluster. Two Torx screws at the top of the panel and some friction clips along the edges retain the piece. Remove the two screws and then carefully pry out the panel. |  You are now just four Torx... Remove the screws and pull the cluster forward enough to disconnect the two elec-trical connections found on the rear of the cluster. |  With the cluster out of the...
