The stock steel driveshaft will have to be removed to access the pinion gear still mounted in the differential housing. The four 12-point, 12mm bolts that retain the driveshaft are secured with thread locker. The bolts are tough, so be sure to use the right tools. Jay takes care of the bolts with a swivel impact socket. Once the driveshaft is out of the way, he uses an impact gun to remove the pinion gear retaining nut.
