As we were gearing up to see what the 4.0-liter supercharger would yield on a stock Trinity a part failed and took the engine with it. Lethal had planned on a fortified engine all along, so this just expedited the process. They turned to Tim Eichorn at MPR Racing Engines to fill the stock block with a Cobra Jet crankshaft, custom 10.5:1 Diamond pistons, Manley I-beam rods, ARP studs, MMR billet oil pump gears, and Bullet Racing Cams. On the front of the crank is a robust 15-percent damper and the engine is topped by stock heads ported by Kris Starnes Racing. The heads are fitted with Ferrea valves and Bullet Racing Cams springs.
