This is Ford Racing Performance Parts’ ’07 Hot Rod 4.6-liter Three-Valve engine (PN M-6007-A463NA), which comes to us for this project by way of sister magazine Car Craft (after spending 100 hours of continuous use on the dyno in Ford’s durability lab). The all-aluminum, 350hp engine is highlighted by FRPP’s high-lift Hot Rod camshafts, a composite intake manifold and a nifty set of blue valve covers. While no longer available through Ford Racing, this complete engine at one time was offered in conjunction with an installation kit that facilitated installing one in any-year/any-model vehicle. While finding an unused Three-Valve like this for your swap might come about as a long shot by way of a thorough Internet search, we suggest local salvage yards, eBay, Craigslist and Mustang forums as your primary sources for finding a viable Three-Valve for the engine swap.
