The car is completely stock other than a brand new Ford racing 3:73 rear end assembly. The vibration was here since I bought the car 6 months ago. So far I have replaced: all four springs and shocks Harmonic balancer all four brakes tune up/plugs/wires/distributor cap trans fluid change new tires/alignment Ford racing 3:73 rear end(whole thing new from Ford) New universal joints Snap On engine fuel system flush New starter New fan and fan clutch New trans mount and cross member There is a vibration coming through the floor, whirring through around every second or so, and a bit less, when idling in Park, and gets worse when car is in motion. At highway speeds, and shifting the trans down from overdrive to 3rd, it the vibration actually comes through the dash at higher(3-4000) RPM's. The motor has 140 k on it, but runs good otherwise. I had the harmonic balancer replaced, and I'm still having the vibration. I'm assuming this problem is in the engine or trans, since it still slightly vibrates when in Park and neutral (AOD trans) If anyone can give me some tips on what to look for, it would be greatly appreciated. Possibly the trans input shaft or torque converter? Flywheel problem? I'm getting to the end of my rope and ready to bring the car to Ford to have a look at it. The vibration gets worse at 1200-2000 rpm, and does not sound or feel healthy. Thanks! :)

Pony Down Stage 2 I will try to update.... 1991 Ford Mustang Coupe LX 5.0 owner Robert Miller Roaring River NC 28669 336-957-5080 or 336-244-7446 This car started out as a stock 1991 5.0 LX auto car. I bought the car in Jan 08. As soon as I got it home the first order of bussiness was to pull the drivetrain and start cleaning the engine bay, interior, etc. I had picked up a 1995 Mustang from a local guy who had no idea what was in the motor, all he could say was its FAST(been there heard that, right). All I knew was it had a nice sounding cam in it, Big injectors and Alum. Heads. Transmission was grinding in second and wouldn't go in reverse so I picked it up really cheap. After a Sunday afternoon burnout accident I totaled the car and that made for a transplant. I took the engine out (by this time I knew it had good power and Victor Jr. heads). Pulled the oil pan, what I found was good, Eagle H-beam rods, Eagle Stroker Crank, SRP pistons, and a 1" Steel Gridle. I Never took the timing chain off so I still don't know the Cam specs or the bore on the engine. After swaping SN-95 parts over to 5.0 stuff Including a Edelbrock Polished water pump, Trick Flow TFS-R intake, Accufab 80mm TB and Anderson Power Pipe. I put in a Tremec TKO 3550 5-speed Transmision, Backed with Centerforce Clutch, and Steeda Shifter, A FRPP alum drive shaft bolted to a stock 8.8 housing equipped with 3:73 Motorsport Gears. I added 5 lug moser axles with 5lug SN-95 Spindles and a SVO Motorsport Extender with MSD Ignition to get the car running. Once it was up and running we strapped it down for a quick dyno pull with no tunning. The car put down 357rwhp/359rwtq. I was hoping to sometime soon get it back on the dyno for some tunning but with a recent purchase of a Pony Down Stage 2 Turbo Kit with a Turbonetics 88mm Turbo I figure we will wait and do it all with the new set up. Snice that time I have added several suspension mods including UPR K-member and A-arms, Racecraft 2" drop spindles, 13" Crossed drilled Cobra front Brakes, Qa1 front Coilovers with 300lbs springs, Strange adjustable struts and shocks help smooth out the ride. The rear has Maximum Motorsports Weight Jacker lower Control arms and Eiblach Pro Kit Springs. The Rear upper control arms are Hotchkis Adjustable units. I also Found a set of Weld Racing 17" Alumstars and ran these wheels for awhile but found some 17x9.5 front and 17x10 rear CCW Classics fit the car better for street driving. The exhaust is Mac Longtube Headers, with Flowmasters full 3" exahust kit and tips. The interior is mostly stock with the exception of the UPR Rock Crusher shifter and the Florida 5.0 Dash Gauge Pod filled with Autometer phantom Gauges. All this needed to look good so with the help of Kevin Mitchell and Wesley Dancy I was able to have the Oxford White reapplied with PPG paint and after blacking out the mouldings. I feel the car has come along way and It means alot to me to see the car turn out the way it has......Having places like "Snapshots" and "My Muscle Mustang" to show it off makes it that much better. However, you can always either drop an erlier Fox short block in the car and have forged pistons as well. The '94s are little heavier than a Fox coupe so the engine's hauling around more heft, which you can definitely feel when you go from a coupe to an SN95. Are you getting rid of the Fox or trading it for the '94?

It was repaired at a ford dealership, but since then I get a pinging sound at around 3000 rpm at part throttle. Ford says everything is within specs and it is normal to hear this. I have a jlt cai, bbk pulleys, x-pipe and magnaflow mufflers. I have even had the car dynoed and found it was running lean and was enrichend 8%. It ran better after that but still had the pinging. I even brought down the timing 2% and it didnt make a difference. I always run 91 octane! And also at wot throttle after 3200 rpm's it is just fine. with all the mods it made 269 to the wheels. Please give me some ideas because nobody seems to have any answers. When i first got it, it sounded like this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TbFvBHVBOwg It turned out to be a couple thrown rods, no oil up top, a broken oil pump connecting rod, pieces of the bottom end of the pistons in the oil pan, a seized oil pump. Here are some pics... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v381/Goku99900/IMG00081-20090812-1615.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v381/Goku99900/IMG00085-20090813-2052.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v381/Goku99900/PICT0085.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v381/Goku99900/PICT0084.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v381/Goku99900/IMG00080-20090812-1615.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v381/Goku99900/PICT0083.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v381/Goku99900/IMG00012-20090722-1505.jpg Had to take this pic.....it's so empowering...knowing you can pickup the whole front end of the car! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v381/Goku99900/PICT0080.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v381/Goku99900/PICT0090.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v381/Goku99900/PICT0087.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v381/Goku99900/PICT0072.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v381/Goku99900/PICT0097.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v381/Goku99900/PICT0076.jpg I broke down everything and went to town on the chassis, sanded painted, wire tuck. The block went in for the next size over pistons, but the guys at Kenyon machine Took good care of me, resleeved and .040 pistons at 10:1 comp. The heads are the stock E7 :( Oversized valves, new springs the whole nine. New hydraulic lifters with retainers, Converted to roller rockers, and comp rods, everything 1.7 ratio.
