i think that exact swap has been covered in several articles .. so hang on .. i seem to recall that cobra brakes might also be 5 bolt lugs so wheels and axle shafts might also be needed.. http://www.mustang50magazine.com/techarticles/m5lp_0207_steedas_cobra_brake_upgrade_kit/ http://www.musclemustangfastfords.com/tech/0402mm_roush/ before you change... are you having an issue with your brakes??? like a soft or spongy pedal... if the rotors or drums have a LIP where there is metal worn away... the brakes will be ineffective and spongy.. why... brake pads are parallel when new... ||....|| calipers have parallel faces... | |= if the rotors are worn or the brake drums are worn... the brake pads will contact close to the center.. then something has to flex to make full contact.. usually the caliper will ever so slightly deflect.. so.. have your rotors and drums machined when doing brake jobs... ||/=\|| worn rotors.. new pads.. |||=||| fresh rotors new pads.. i don't have a cutaway view to really show the issue..

Been shopping around online for the Borla atak exhaust and have found several different places such as American muscle. Anyway I'm a bit confused on truly what the difference between the axel back and cat back is. Now saying that I'm aware that axel back is literally just mufflers back and cat back is supposed to be from the catalectic converter back, now most cat back systems for other cars I've seen I thought included a mid pipe, but it seems the cat backs for the mustangs only include over axel pipes which are connected to the factory H-pipe to the axel back section. So what's the difference between axel back and cat back other than the price and over axel pipes coming with the cat back? Is there that much sound difference? Am I missing something?

I know I can turn the idle screw, to make it idle, but it will change the voltage. The TPS, is adjusted as low as it will go! WHAT CAN BE DONE NOW?

by the way... if you get a chance.... pick up one of these.. stainless steel wire tooth brushes from the local hardware or paint store.. this is what i use to clean various ring terminal and studs... http://i1207.photobucket.com/albums/bb476/waynep712/stainlesssteeltoothbrush2.jpg these are under 5 bucks usually and will last for years..... conventional steel versions will rust out.. plastic handled versions usually have thiner wire that does not work as well..

I swapped my old wore out v6 for a 351 Windsor out of a 1970 mach 1 with C6 Tranny, hurst quarter stick shifter ,a nasty cam, an edelbrock rpm air gap intake,msd 6al ign system and a holly street avenger 650 cfm 4 bbl carb.This car is insanely fast but it drinks gas like nobody's business.The guys who did this for me didnt have to use a special k member they just made custom motor mounts and they also put the engine as close to the firewall as possible.Of course the drive shaft had to be cut and welded.The engine is taller than we thought it would be so we had to cut down the air cleaner and notch out the hood.We actually turned the pretend scoop on the stock hood into a functional hood scoop by cutting it out.Still with all this modification the air cleaner is snug against the hood though it will shut.I will be getting a functional cowl hood.The only gauge that works is the ammeter.The speedo is not mechanical so that wont work yet without modification.The tach requires some special harness to make it compatible with the msd ign.Gas gauge wont work?Its a wiring nightmare still under construction but it runs like a scalded dog and with the magna flow mufflers and cam it makes a 5.0 sound like a whispering golf commentator on television.

Hey guys... Having a bit of an electrical issue with my 87 gt. 5 speed manual. Bought a new battery.. Hooked it up. Started her up. Let her run for about a half hour. Put her in the street. Turned her off. Went to pull her back in and no start. Battery was drained.. Jump start.. Let it run for a while.. Cut it off. Crank it and nothin. The only thing I can think of is m y alarm.. But that Clint possibly drain a "new" battery in 30 mins.? So now I have it hooked up "just the battery" to a small charger... It's been on there for 15 hours and still "charging" . Havnt had it running long enough (sense I thought about the alarm) to turn it off. Last time I jumped it.. It died while running.. And no power. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks in advance. I'm stumped. Carbon Knock Noise On Acceleration for Ford Vehicles with 4.0L Engines Affects Ford Aerostar, Explorer and Ranger applications from 1990 to 2000 with 4.0L OHV engines. Some vehicies equipped with the 4.0L OHV engine may exhibit an engine noise which might be perceived by the customer as a piston/connecting rod bearing knock. This carbon knock is heard only under load during the drive cycle. Carbon knock is a customer drive-duty-cycle phenomenon that cannot be repaired with an engine exchange. This may be caused by carbon build-up within the combustion chamber. Action Verify condition. If normal diagnostics fail to correct the condition, de-carbon the combustion chamber to help quiet the carbon knock noise. Refer to the appropriate service manual for details. Service Procedure for Installers 1. Use Motorcraft carburetor Tune-up cleaner PM-3. 2. Carbon removal: a. Disconnect canister purge linefrom throttle body. b. Attach a vacuum line to the canister purge port. c. At hot engine idle, allow the engine to ingest 1/2 to 2/3 of a can of Motorcraft Carburetor Tune-up Cleaner. Use caution not to ingest too quickly due to potential hydro-lock issues. d. Shut engine off and allow it to soak for one hour. e. Start engine, allow engine to ingest the remainder of the Motorcraft Carburetor Tune-up Cleaner. f. Remove vacuum line and re-install canister purge line. g. Road test vehicle at 3,500 rpm for 2-3 miles. h. Repeat above procedure two times for a total of three times. i. Change oil and filter. 3. Review' the customers' driving habits. The recommended drive cycle should include daily periods of engine operation above 3,000 RPM, such as a brisk acceleration from a stop position. This will break/burn the carbon off the piston head. 4. Ford recommends customer use regular unleaded 87 octane fuel. Mid-grade and premium fuels may increase the probability of carbon buildup, leading to a knock noise.

Have tired suspension(200,000 miles). It's a daily driver. Don't want to spend a ton of money on it. Would like to put some Eibach springs on it. Car scrapes on speed bumps now. I don't know by putting lowering springs on it will raise it up. Sure don't want to go lower. Suggestions on shocks, tie rods, lower control arms, ball joints would be appreciated.

Blow-By Racing has stepped-up to support Muscle Mustangs and the NMRA as the presenting sponsor of the Spring Break Shootout class and is offering a bonus BBR $600 product certificate to the winner! This awesome event, which Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords started back in 1995, features some of the fastest street-style Mustangs in the land competing for the honor of Spring Break Shootout champion. With easy to follow rules, the Muscle Mustangs Spring Break Shootout class regularly attracts over 100 True Street cars competing for a top-16 spot to qualify for the Shootout. Spring Break Shootout Class Rules: The Muscle Mustangs Spring Break Shootout class, presented by Blow-By Racing, is a heads-up Quick 16 format race that will take place on Sunday, March 10th, 2013. The Spring Break Shootout race will be open to the quickest 16 cars that run in NMRA’s TREMEC True Street class (presented by Muscle Mustangs) on Saturday, March 9th. To be eligible for the Spring Break Shootout class, competitors must meet True Street rules, compete in the True Street class on Saturday, and make all three True Street passes. The sixteen (16) competitors who have the fastest 3-pass averages will be placed on a sportsman ladder and will race heads-up on a 4/10 pro tree.
