The front hood of the R is made of fiberglass by a company called HO Tech and is finished by another company called Mascotech, both in the Dearborn area. The R is about 30 pounds lighter than the regular SVT Cobra. The heavier 5.8L engine and bigger cooling system offset the weight savings from creature comfort deletions. The R model sits about 3/4-inch lower than the regular SVT Cobra thanks to its special racing springs. View Related Article
