Though they aren’t included in the kit, we chose to replace the axle bearings while everything was apart. The axle shafts act as the inner race on 8.8 rearends, so matching a new set of bearings with our new five-stud shafts seemed a logical approach—especially with nearly 100,000 miles on the clock.
