To find out how much the 427R puts down to the wheels, we stopped over at Moore Tuned [(863) 559-4344; www.mooretuned.com] in Lakeland, Florida, to strap it down to Allen Moore's Mustang MD-1100SE single-eddy current chassis dyno. Allen specializes in tuning high-horsepower cars for maximum driveabilty, which makes him our kind of guy!

2010 Roush 427RWhile the Rouscharger...

2010 Roush 427RWhile the Rouscharger blower is a familiar face, Roush really outdid itself with the execution of the '10 kit. Rather than routing airflow from the driver side all the way over to the passenger side, as in the prior kits, the Firecracker Roushcharger features a driver-side inlet. This inlet is fed in a straight shot thanks to a Roush lid for the stock airbox. This arrangement keeps things on the up and up for emissions, and still makes use of Ford's new grille-fed induction.

Currently atop the '10 Roush...

Currently atop the '10 Roush food chain, the 427R package ($14,156 on top of the Mustang GT price) is distinguished from its Stage 1 and 2 brethren in part by this trunk-lid badging. The $5,952 Stage 1 package is all about looks. It includes the bodywork, badging, and 18-inch chrome wheels, while the $7,326 Stage II package adds performance zest courtesy of the Roush suspension system. Naturally, you can option up all the Roush variants with myriad appearance and performance parts. Our well-optioned 427 tester stickered at $55,538.
