We mentioned that Jeff is a land surveyor. One of his then business acquaintances was a contractor named Rick Ashley, who one day commented favorably on the 16x24 print of Voodoo Blue that Jeff had hanging on his office wall. Jeff jokingly suggested that Rick should buy it, and after going for a brief ride, that's just what he did. Jeff says he lost money on the sale to Rick, but gained a great friend, so it looks as though the curse has finally run its course.
The most recent modifications to the C-500 have been the addition of a JPC Racing return-style fuel system and fuel rails, along with the aforementioned aluminum intake. Beforehand, when it was still putting out only 580 rwhp, the C-500 ran mid-11-second e.t.'s. Now that Mr. Burcham has worked his magic, that number has risen to about 670 rwhp. No further strip passes have been made yet, but Jeff guesses it should easily run 10s. So now ol' Voodoo Blue may well work its curse on whatever car is in the next lane.
