Our tech editor's first of two T-top GTs . . . back in the day. This '84got KJ started on the Mustang path. Bolt-on upgrades helped transformthe car from a 17-, to a 14-, to a 12-second daily driver (KJ actuallydrove it round trip--with slicks, a toolbox, and a jack in thehatch--between New York and Bradenton, Florida, to compete in theinaugural Spring Break Shootout back in 1995). Then it became amid-10-second, drag-race Mustang that made its way onto the pages ofyour favorite 'Stang mag back in Y2K ("Making Tracks," Oct '00, p. 107).
