Putting the mission into hyperspeed in April 2000, with the help of friends Adam Dugger and Jim McInnis of BSD Racing, Jeff added a Vortech V-1 S-Trim supercharger and ripped off his first 11-second pass at the NMRA Ford Motorsports Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway with an 11.90 at 115.96 mph. Later that same year, with the addition of 36-lb/hr injectors, a few exhaust mods, cool Cecil County Dragway air, and the removal of the factory rev limiter, he dipped into the 10-second zone with a 10.97 at 124 mph.
Recent mods include switching over from the Cobra intake to a Professional Products Typhoon intake, moving down a supercharger pulley from a 3.33-inch blower pulley to a 3.12-incher, which required the move up to 42-lb/hr injectors from the 36s. With the new combination, and at the Superstallions of the Net dyno day in March 2004 at LaRocca's Performance, Jeff was rewarded with 497 hp and 459 lb-ft of torque. Then, at the Superstallions of the Net Spring Nationals at Cecil County Dragway, the car ran a best time of 10.49 at 128 mph with a 1.51 60-foot time.
"I take pride in that my car has never been trailered to or from the track," Jeff says. "I drive it over an hour to Cecil County Drag-way in Maryland, rip off mid-10s, and drive it home." Jeff also says the car is still as much fun-maybe even more so-to drive today as it was when he drove it off the lot in 1994. "It is a total blast to drive, it always draws questions and compliments, and it has even been used as a means to get 50-pound bags of mulch from the local home-improvement store back to my house. These kinds of daily chores keep the car humble, in my opinion."
