The special touches continue inside with a white-faced Cobra instrument cluster, personalized with a "Mach 1" logo. And everybody notices the shifter. It's based on a Paul's High Performance shift mechanism, actuated by a modified Roush lever, and topped by George's own T-handle. Both the lever and handle are resplendent in their own Mach 1 logos. George also custom finished the steering wheel, and he finished off the thoroughly retro interior with a set of CDC's Mach 1 floor mats. In case you're wondering how he ended up with a Mach 1000 sound system-an extra that does not appear on the Mach 1's factory option list-he now sells the OEM Mach 1000 kit as a plug-and-play upgrade for any Mustang currently equipped with Mach 460.
By now it's fairly obvious that the Machinator shows well, but we're also happy to report that it drives even better. It possesses all the untamed thrust of an '03 Cobra (cranked up with a smaller blower pulley) but with the Cobra's too-quiet exhaust replaced by an assertive bellow emanating from CDC's combination of side exhausts and a Bassani X-pipe. In all, CDC's Machinator is a wicked machine of which Mr. Schwarzenegger would surely approve. Hasta la vista, baby!
