What does it take to run 11s with mostly stock parts? "It's not one thing," Justin says. "There are so many little things that really add up. It takes time, money, dedication, and a lot of testing-a lot of looking at places besides under the hood." A well-thought-out combination including speed-density electronics and 19-lb/hr injectors doesn't hurt either. Autologic's Mike Wesley tuned the chip to take out timing up top, but Justin says the engine's still fat up there. The chip is not yet tuned to Justin's combination, so he believes there's more power to be found. Even so, he thinks speed-density is a disadvantage because there's more tuneability with a mass-air setup.
