The engine was pulled and then fitted with a set of Edelbrock Performer aluminum heads with a five-angle valve job on the seats behind the stainless 1.90/1.60 valves. Custom Performance ground a custom camshaft for the engine and then installed it with a Comp Cams valvetrain. The stock induction system was replaced with an 80mm C&L mass air, an Accufab 70mm throttle body, and an Edelbrock intake, all pumped by a Powerdyne centrifugal supercharger. Oversized fuel injectors are backed by a 255-lph fuel pump to help handle the additional airflow. Setting off the mixture in the combustion chamber is a set of Motorcraft plugs triggered by an MSD ignition system.
