1988 Ford Mustang GT - Road Raging
A tasteful combination that... A tasteful combination that is clean yet nasty enough to get this 10-second car its own feature in America's favorite Ford book. The suspension for the 3,360-pound street brawler consists of an Unlimited Performance Racing coilover conversion on Lakewood 90/10 struts in the front and HPM Mega-Bite Jrs. in the back. The rear housing holds an Auburn Pro differential with 3.55 gears and 31-spline Moser axles with C-clip eliminators. On the street, Scott uses 275/60/15 BFG drag radials to get the job done, although he has cut a 1.41-second short time with 28x10.5-inch M/Ts at the track. Not bad for what amounts to a stock-suspension car. | 5.0 TECH SPECS | | | ENGINE AND DRIVETRAIN | | Block | Stock (prepped by D.S.S.) | | Cylinder Heads | Edelbrock (ported by Fox Lake) | | Intake Manifold | Trick Flow R | | Camshafts | Cam Motion | | Power Adder | Turbonetics T-66 turbo | | Exhaust | Cartech | | Fuel Pump | Cartech | | Fuel Injectors | 83-lb/hr Siemens | | Transmission | Dynamic Mighty Mite C4 | | Rearend | 8.8 with an Auburn Pro, 3.55 gears, 31-spline Moser axles, and C-clip eliminators | | ELECTRONICS | | Engine Management | FAST programmable fuel injection | | Ignition | MSD 6AL | | Gauges | Auto Meter | | SUSPENSION AND CHASSIS | | Springs | UPR | | Struts/Shocks | Lakewood | | Rear Suspension | HPM Mega-Bite Jr. lower control arms | | Wheels | Weld Pro Stars | | Tires | BFGoodrich (street)/ Mickey Thompson (track) | | Brakes | Stock |
