So last winter Mark turned his attention to freshening the body with a '93 Cobra aero kit, a 511/42-inch cowl hood, and fresh purple pigment. OSCA rules disallow any lettering on race cars, which is why you see no acknowledgement of sponsors Paul's High Performance and Jim's Collision on the grape-colored flanks. He also lowered the car, which, when it finally made its first 2001 appearance at the NMRA's Mid Michigan event, caused some unexpected suspension issues. It was at that point Mark decided to focus on the eighth-mile scene of the Outlaw Street Car Association.
With full season participation planned for 2002, we think Mark's chances of producing an OSCA-winning performance look good. He'd better start practicing his acceptance speech.
There's enough purple trim here to emulate Barney's dinosaur playroom. Much of the interior came from a '92 LX donor, although the seats are from Kirkey, the gauges are Auto Meter, and the B&M Pro Stick resides beneath a homemade switch panel. The 12-point cage was crafted by Mark with help from Todd Saunders.
