Last week we held our second-annual 5.0 West Open House event at our Source Interlink Media Tech Center in El Segundo, California. Mustang and Ford enthusiasts from all over Southern California and beyond were looking forward to the Fabulous Fords Forever show at Knott’s Berry Farm and we had the perfect set of pre-game activities last Friday (April 19) to help kick off their fun Ford weekend properly!
Our hot models, Carolyn Martin and Anne McDaniels, were walking around signing autographs and posing for photos (if you asked nicely of course) and lunch was provided for everybody in attendance. Justin Pawlak, Falken Tire Formula Drift ace, was also out and about mingling with enthusiasts. And of course, it wouldn’t have been a 5.0 event without the turnout of gleaming Mustangs on display in the parking lot.
“The 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords brand has been in existence for 20 years and true Mustang enthusiasts and followers of our brand really showed up at our open house in the 5.0 West headquarters,” said 5.0 publisher Mike Essex.
The day included a meet-and-greet and two raffle drawings for a chance to win some awesome goodies provided by big names, including: Maximum Motorsports, Afco Racing, Dynatech Performance Exhaust, Comp Cams, Zex, FAST, Eibach Springs, Nitto Tire, Whiteline Flat Out, Hotchkis Performance, Ford Racing Performance Parts, BBK Performance, Stiffler’s, Mother’s, Meguiar’s, M&M Towing, Raceskinz, Ford Motor Company, Strange Engineering, Raceland, CFR Performance, Mechanix Wear, K&N Performance, SCT, Wilwood Brakes, Creations N Chrome, and GTR High Performance. The awesome prizes were given out by the pretty 5.0 ladies, turning a lot of folks into happy campers
"I'm very pleased with the way everything turned out for our second 5.0 West Open House. The event was awesome, and I want to thank everyone who attended and shared their Mustangs”, said KJ Jones, Tech Editor for 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords, “I also want to give a shout out of thanks to my teammates at 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords, colleagues in the Source Interlink Media El Segundo office and Tech Center, and all of the aftermarket companies that provided so many bitchin' prizes for our raffle. The Open House wouldn't have been the great success that it was, without all of the tremendous help and cooperation that I received from those folks!"
With about 130 people in attendance and about 60 displayed Mustangs outside (some of which you can check out below), our second open house was indeed a success. Thanks for coming out and showing some love for your favorite magazine! We look forward to seeing you next year!
