 Pure Street
Saying, "Jim... Pure Street
Saying, "Jim St Charles has got it figured out" is an understatement. Jim's record-holding '99 GT took the pole position in Pure Street with a wicked, 10.10/133.06 e.t./mph package. His hot Two-Valve put away the Four-Valve and pushrod entries of Shawn Johnson and Eric Burkhart before driving around Steve Gifford's Cobra in the final. Factory Stock
"Tommy (Godfrey)... Factory Stock
"Tommy (Godfrey) made it easy for us...he red lit," said Matt Amrine's excited crew members, after their driver scored his final-round victory over defending Factory Stock champ Tommy Godfrey. Matt's Two-Valve, '98 'Stang sat on the pole in the limited-mods class, and put the smack down on Jeremy Taylor and Louis Sylvester Jr. in the first and second rounds of eliminations, before squaring off with Tommy. "Uncharacteristic" is the... "Uncharacteristic" is the best way to sum up Tommy Godfrey's final round at Milan. After handily dispatching Alan Cann and Jay Dold in the first two rounds of eliminations, the multi-time Factory Stock champion tripped the red beacon when it counted the most; giving Matt Amrine the win (and reversing the outcome of their last major meeting, which came in the final round of the 2009 NMRA World Finals). Modular Muscle
Gary "Hollywood"... Modular Muscle
Gary "Hollywood" Parker is settling into the Modular Muscle lifestyle quite nicely. The former Fun Ford Weekend standout pledged his allegiance to the NMRA, and thus far has appeared in every final round of the 2010 season. Gary's victory over Randy Mounce comes on the heels of a win just a few weeks earlier at the Atco race. Open Comp
Brent Blacker... Open Comp
Brent Blacker definitely had victory momentum on his side. Brent scored his first NMRA win a few weeks earlier at the Atco race. At Milan, the O/C veteran's second-consecutive event title came in a close, final-round contest with James Johnson Jr.'s 11-second '92 'Stang. Trucks
Gary Windsor wheeled... Trucks
Gary Windsor wheeled his clean, black, first-gen Lightning through tough pairings in four rounds of eliminations. And in fifth stanza--a rare, heads-up final for the Open Comp-style truck class (10.86 index to 10.86 index)--secured the event title with a win over Robert Abramovich's big red rig. Super 'Stang
Matt DaSilva... Super 'Stang
Matt DaSilva certainly is a chip off the ol' block. A Super 'Stang victory wasn't Matt's only accomplishment at Milan. In addition to nailing down his first NMRA win, the son of Mustang-racing legend, Joe DaSilva, also earned membership in the 11-Second Club, for naturally aspirated Three-Valve S197s.
