2007 SEMA Show - Anything You Need

 2007 SEMA Show

California Pony Cars

Wheels are the rice of SEMA, including for Mustangs. California Pony Cars' [(888) 225-7669; www.calponycars.com] angle is enlarging classic Mustang wheel designs to S197 specs. Available in 17x8-, 20x9-, and 20x10-inch fitments, the Cal Pony SS Style wheel definitely gives the S197 a classic old-school look. Center caps are red, blue, and black and are sold separately.

CamLogic Technologies

The Camlogic Digital Degree System from CamLogic Technologies [(248) 669-7080; www.camlogicsystem.com] has given new life to all those "how to degree your cam" stories you've read for the last 20 years. The product adds digital precision to cam degreeing, which lets a bumpstick be degreed within one-tenth.

Classic Design Concepts

There was a lot to see in the Classic Design Concepts [(866) 624-7997; www.classicdesignconcepts.com] booth, including the Twister Special Mustang by R&A Motorsports (www.r-amotorsports.com), as it features several CDC parts. What really caught our eye was a second-generation version of the Glassback roof, which includes laminated LeMans stripes within the layers of glass. It also feautures a light-absorbing layer designed to block heat and 98 percent of the UV rays. In case you didn't know--because we didn't--CDC is also offering a plug-and-play Rockford Fosgate subwoofer upgrade for Shaker 500-equipped S197s.

Comp Cams

As usual, Comp Cams [(800) 999-0853; www.compcams.com] and its related companies is offering a collection of new gear for Fords. Comp itself offered high-load Beehive valvesprings for Two- and Three-Valve 4.6s. FAST showed a new XFI box with built-in intelligent traction control. Zex displayed a new high-output nitrous system for S197 GTs, which is good for an extra 100-250 hp. SEMA bestowed one of its awards on TCI's (www.tciauto.com) new StreetFighter console shifter unit for '05-'08 Mustang GTs. The stylish shifter, which uses the OEM cable and bolts directly into the stock console, allows drivers to speed shift an S197's 5R55S tranny with confidence, thanks to its ratchet-style, positive-stop action.

 2007 SEMA Show

Edelbrock

Edelbrock [(310) 781-2222; www.edelbrock.com] had its new EFI upper intake plenums on center stage. The slick new uppers feature a cool internal divider that optimizes flow quantity and distribution. They're designed for enthusiasts who wish to use carb-style lower manifolds on 4.6 and 5.4 engines. We really dig the sideways-mount, box-style elbow (PN 3851). Traditionally shaped low-profile (PN 3848), and high-flow (PN 3849) elbows are also part of Edelbrock's lineup of new intakes. Not as prominently displayed, but also new are RPM Xtreme-series cylinder heads for 351W-based small-block Ford engines (PN 51259). The CNC-ported heads include an 18-degree valve angle (with 2.02 intake valves), 60cc combustion chambers, and 185cc intake ports that will flow like rivers on a hot street stroker.

 2007 SEMA Show

Eibach

Building on its already large line of Mustang suspension parts, Eibach [(800) 507-2338; www.eibach.com] was showing a coilover kit for S197s. Shipped with a serious street or track tune, the bolt-in Multi-Pro R2 four-shock kit features monotube construction, independently adjustable rebound and compression, remote reservoirs with braided stainless steel, Teflon hoses, hefty 47mm pistons, spherical upper bearings, and adjustable ride height yielding lowering from 0.8 to 2.5 inches. Available for Mustang GTs (PN 35101.713) and Shelby GT 500s (PN 351115.713), the kit retails for $2,895.

 2007 SEMA Show

Flaming River

Showing off a longer steering rack kit for Mustangs with long-tube headers, Flaming River [(800) 648-8022; www.flamingriver.com] said the unit can be used with power or manual racks, and can be custom ordered with additional length to accommodate hard-to-fit applications.

 2007 SEMA Show

Ford Racing Performance Parts

Our friends at FRPP [(800) FORD788; www.fordracingparts.com] showcased their line of Aluminator crate engines, but there was plenty more cool stuff on display and in the new catalog. This FR500GT engine wore a prototype of a forthcoming carbon-fiber intake manifold for top-dog race engines. For the rest of us, FRPP added several new items, including these that caught our eye: '05-'08 V-6 Mustang dual-exhaust kit (PN M-5230-V6), '05-'08 V-6 Mustang 85mm cold-air kit (PN M-9603-V605), Ford GT start button kit for Mustangs (PN M-11572-GT), '07-'08 SVT Mustang supercharger upgrade kit (PN 6066-SGT), CNC-ported Four-Valve heads (PN M-6049-464P, M-6050-464P), and '05-'08 Mustang lighted door SVT or Ford Racing sill plates (PN M-13208-LSVT or -LFR).
