Joey Buquoi's '01 Bullitt did it. The Kenne Bell/Nitrous Pro Flow-motivated Two-Valve mated to a Tremec T56 six-speed was good for 752 hp. Combine that with everyday driveability, a nice exterior, a custom stereo, and a comfortable interior, and you have a car that's a blast to drive. Oh yeah, you also have the '06 Nitto Tire King of the Street winner.

King Of The Street 2003 Ford Mustang Cobra
Nate Phillips' '03 Cobra eclipsed the horsepower mark from last year's KOTS winner, Michael Palugi Jr., by pounding out 895 hp on DiabloSport's portable Dynojet. Nate's Cobra features a Hellion Power Systems 88mm single turbo.

King Of The Street Mustangs
We pitted 10 of the baddest Mustangs in America, plus one from Canada, to battle it out for KOTS supremacy. As you can see, we had a colorful bunch-and we're not just talking about the cars. We had Fox Mustangs, Two- and Four-Valve modulars, Cobras, GTs, and even a rare '84 1/2 GT350 convertible.

KOTS competitors were able to make two back-to-back dragstrip passes down Beech Bend Raceway's quarter-mile track on their Nitto 555R Extreme Drag radials. We know-it's King of the Street, but the cars can't just be dyno queens. We want to know that they're fast and the owners are capable of driving them. We knew Mark Magnuson driving Ben Ripstein's Cobra would be hard to beat, and we were right. Mark wrecked the Cobra during testing two weeks prior. He kept the car straight at Bowling Green, running a 10.31 at 132 mph to win the Drag Race portion.

King Of The Street 2005 Ford Mustang GT
Dale Hawkins' '05 Mustang GT left an impression on us as the easiest KOTS car to drive. Anyone who's ever driven an automobile could drive this car, it's that easy. For a pure get-in-and-go experience, Dale's GT had all the bases covered. We're sure we could drive it cross-country if we had to--with everything intact once we got to our destination. Of course, we would have to find the nearest dragstrip so we could run a string of low 11s on the Nitto drag radials. With a bit more break-in time and on slicks, Dale's car improved on his KOTS time to run 10.49 at 130 mph. That's impressive for a car that has the accessories intact with the driveability Dale's car boasts. Well done, Dale and Dynospeed Racing.
