This limited, naturally aspirated class continues to grow in popularity as the NMRA offers the most competitive all-motor class in Ford racing. Tremec Pure Street is designed for "street-oriented" 11- and 12-second small-block, naturally aspirated, Fox-chassis Fords, including '96-present 4.6 Mustangs. Maximum displacement is 310 ci. Street intakes, limited cylinder heads, and 0.500-inch-lift hydraulic-roller camshafts are just some of the concessions to power. Maximum rear slick size is 26.5x10.5 inches as measured. In eliminations, there will be an all-run field run on a pro-tree (0.400) NHRA Sportsman ladder.
2nd Annual Motive Gear NMRA Ford Nationals
July 23-25, 2004
Route 66 Raceway
Joliet (Chicago), Illinois
Prior to the '03 season, Ford racers knew Joliet as the site of the second World Ford Challenge, which happened in 1999. But after last year's NMRA event, WFC is a distant memory, and racers now remember Joliet as one of the biggest and best NMRA Ford Nationals events ever! The NMRA and its racers, car show participants, and spectators blew open the doors of Route 66 Raceway last year, and this year will positively knock 'em off their hinges! Will Swill Racing and Sticker Dude host their hot parties again? We'll have to wait and see, but be on the lookout for the Motive Gear Killa Gorilla and all the Chicago-area crazies as they go for gold on Route 66's fantastic racing surface. If you've never been to this NHRA national-event track, you must come out to the NMRA's event and experience it in person.

One to Watch: Look for a racer fielding modular power to make some noise with the pushrod crowd in 2004.
Quick Fact:
Pure Street is a naturally aspirated class where 3,000-pound Mustangs use 310-inch small-block Fords to run mid 10s.
If you're looking for a place to begin your heads-up pro-tree career with a Mustang, look no further than BFGoodrich Factory Stock. This class was designed for basic, bolt-on, 12- and 13-second EFI Mustangs, including '86-and-up 5.0s, and '96-present 4.6s, with extremely limited modifications allowed. Maximum 310 ci and DOT radial tires are required. In eliminations, there will be an all-run field run on a pro-tree (0.400) NHRA Sportsman ladder.
One to Watch:Watch for more modular Mustangs to be making the move into Factory Stock. Jeffrey Schmell was competitive with a showroom-new Mach 1 in 2003. A purpose-built modular could scald the pushrod cars for good.
Quick Fact:This is the NMRA's introductory class for heads-up racers. Want the thrill of racing on a pro-tree just like Top Fuel and Funny Car but at a fraction of the cost? This is your class.
