The amount of vehicles and projects headed to SEMA are almost endless, even just the Mustang portion. One particular Mustang was put together by the Vortech Supercharger team, a yellow 2014 Mustang dubbed Yellow Jacket.
“As a lifelong Ford fan, I was inspired to create this project car when I realized Ford doesn’t offer yellow on the 2014 Mustang,” said Brian Ellis, sales marketing and social media manager for AirPower Group. “We wanted to create something really eye-popping with a mechanical package to match the appearance.”
The team at Vortech decided on the Boy Racer body kit by 3D Carbon as well as a carbon-fiber cowl hood along with other carbon accents from TruFiber. All of the carbon-fiber components were covered in a yellow paint by DuPont.
With a build like this heading to SEMA, you need a strong powerplant to back it up. Powering the heart of this beast is a Coyote 5.0L V-8 engine mated to the Vortech V-3 Si supercharger good for 605hp and 473 lb-ft of torque on 7.5psi of boost.
Other goodies include a Webasto electronic sunroof, iForged Icon three-piece wheels in black chrome with a flat black lip (20 X 9-inch front, 20- X 11-inch in the rear) wrapped with Falken Azenis FK453 tires (275/40/20 front, 315/35/20 rear).
For incredible handling, a custom powder-coated Maximum Motorsports Road & Track box suspension package was installed on the Mustang. Also, Baer 6S six-piston brakes will provide stopping power to all four wheels.
We can’t wait to see it in person!
