Charlie Booze Jr. is bummed that Hot Street is going away, but he’s the last class champion of the NMRA’s naturally aspirated class. A perennial class favorite, Charlie once again took the championship with his Kuntz and Co.-powered ’92 GT. Charlie runs a 400ci combination, which helped him achieve the top qualifying spot at Beech Bend. However, true to Hot Street form—where races are won and lost by inches—eventual event winner Rick Riccardi took out Charlie in the semi-final with an 8.42 to a losing 8.48.
