Apparently, Fox Mustangs are still chick magnets. Nick Niedbalski of St.Louis, Missouri, says he has lots of photos of girls with his '88Mustang GT. Well, Nick obviously has great taste, as he sent in picturesof Danielle and she took top honors in our online BOTM poll.
Sadly, Nick didn't tell us much more about the lovely Danielle. Abouthis car, on the other hand, he had plenty to tell us (not that you aretoo concerned). His '88 features a Vortech supercharger, a Trick Flowintake, BBK headers, a BBK X-shape crossover system, Flowmaster exhaust,3.73 rearend gears, B&M transmission, B&M hammer shifter, chrome-molyadjustable control arms, Ford Racing Performance Parts springs, and tonsof chrome.
Back in the days before our BOTM Web poll, we knew we had a winner assoon as we opened the envelope. It's good to be assured our instinctsare still spot-on, because we figured Marian Gomez of Warner Robins,Georgia, was going to run away with the competition. Guess what? Shedid. It couldn't hurt that Marian was posing in front of a cool ColoradoRed '86 Fox coupe owned by her boyfriend, Eric Yentzer of Super SixMotorsports [(478) 256-7766; www.supersixmotorports.com] fame--sorryguys. Super Six specializes in hot-rodding the 3.8L V-6 engine, butEric's car is powered by a 306ci V-8 with a Holley carb, an EdelbrockPerformer RPM intake, ported E7TE heads, a Crane cam, and more.
Of course, it's Marian's combination you really want to know about. "I'm18 and I live in Warner Robins, Georgia," Marian says. "I think ya'llneed a little bit of Latina heat to spice up your Babe of the Monthpage. I love anything with a Blue Oval, but my heart belongs to theMustang..." We couldn't agree more with Marian's idea to spice up ourlittle page, and I'll bet several of our readers' hearts belong to hernow. Eric's car is pretty nice, too.

Talk about a landslide. Dana Bowen of Hiram, Georgia, took our March '07BOTM Web poll by storm with 51.92 percent of the vote. With hercompetitors splitting the rest of the votes, Dana maintained her leadthroughout the poll. It goes to show what the right photos can do for acontestant, because it was Dana's second try at BOTM fame. "I know thisis the second time sending in pics, and month after month, I amdisappointed because my pics have yet to be chosen," Dana says.
"I know I am way cuter than these girls you have picked and myMustang--well it is a Mustang, how could you possibly even give thosewannabe Mustangs a chance?" You might think she's being cocky, and wewon't back her up on knocking prior BOTM rides, but the car she's withis hers--that deserves some respect. "My black-on-black Fox-body coupeand I could show these ladies a thing or two," she adds. We have to giveher props for the Fox-body coupe with black interior, and she did showus a thing or two. We're glad Dana didn't give up the first time.
Eighteen-year-old Elizabeth Dauphinais of Creedmoor, North Carolina,says her boyfriend is an avid reader of 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords, andfrom the sounds of her car, she must be too. "It's my dream to befeatured in your magazine," Elizabeth says. "My boyfriend has a '94 GTas well, but it's not nearly as modified as mine. He has a subscriptionto 5.0&SF, and he loves checking out the tech articles, and especiallythe BOTM. He would be so surprised, and I know it would make his life--itwould make mine, too--to see his girl in his favorite magazine."
Well, Elizabeth, we're glad we could help. We also have to give youmajor kudos on your '94. It's nice to see someone giving the SN-95 GTproper respect. We're glad to see you installed some of the partsyourself. You really have to hand it to Jeff "Kinger" King for this month's BOTMfeat. Not only did he convince 19-year-old Samantha Feaker to pose withhis '04 GT, but he talked photographer Amanda Ford(www.amandafordphoto.com) into taking the shots for him. Nice work,Jeff. Samantha is a cheerleader and student at Barton Community Collegein Great Bend, Kansas, as well as a waitress at Fuel, a local pub andracer hangout. Does "Wanna be 5.0&SF Babe of the Month?" work as apickup line, Jeff? It worked well enough to get Samantha to pose withhis car, we suppose. The car in question features a Vortech V-2SQ andputs down 430 hp and 420 lb-ft to the wheels. But in all the excitementfrom this photo shoot, Jeff blew the motor, and at the time of thiswriting, he is weeks away from installing a forged short-block with allthe goodies. Jeff says he's shooting for 550 to 600 hp. With that kindof power, Jeff ought to really be able to impress the wait staff atFuel.
"My name is Sarah, and I'm from Lee's Summit, Missouri. I'm 20 yearsold, and I want to be Babe of the Month!" Of course, there's more to itthan asking. Sarah sent us pictures of her and her '90 5.0 Mustang. Nowwe're talking! Sarah competed with two other BOTM contenders on the Webpoll (50mustangandsuperfords.com) and she won by a landslide with 65percent of the vote. And, that vote was just based on her photos--if youguys knew what she told us, the vote might have been more lopsided.
"I race my car, too." Sarah says. "I'm involved in a local racingseries, which is VAMP Automotive Heads-Up Racing. My car has a 302 withExplorer heads, an Explorer intake, 3.73 gears, a five-speed tranny,Cobra R wheels, a Cervini's Cobra R hood, a cold-air intake, underdrivepulleys, and an electric fan. It should run 13.50s in the quarter-mile.During my first year racing in 2004, I was the Stock Street champion."
Now that's our idea of a BOTM. Good work, Sarah.
If you've been reading 5.0&SF for a long time, you know Editor Turnerhas a thing for the TV version of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. So itshouldn't come as a huge surprise that Trisha's photos immediately wentup on our BOTM Web poll. "I'll tell you about Trisha," says Marc Willis,owner of the Cobra in the background. "Besides being a Sarah MichelleGeller look-alike, she's a sweet 22-year-old Mid-Western girl(Missouri). At about 5 feet 2 inches, she was surprisingly full ofenergy as she volunteered to add the hiss to go along with my venomousCobra." Apparently, our readers like Trisha too--she walked away withalmost 60 percent of the vote in our poll.
Marc is serving in the U.S. Navy, and the uniform must have served himwell. He managed to get another girl, Shannon, to take Trisha's pictureswith the Cobra in the parking lot of Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego,California. Marc's car isn't just a looker with a looker, either. He hashad plenty of parts added by Ricardo and Gonzalo Topete of GTR HighPerformance. A few highlights of the '04 Cobra's mods include aStiegemeier Stage IV-ported supercharger, Billetflow pulleys, an Accufabthrottle body, a Fluidyne heat exchanger, a DiabloSport tuner, and more.All told, the Cobra puts down 492 hp and 461 lb-ft at the rear wheels.Kudos on the car and the photos, Marc.

We have to hand it to Jessica Lockwood. Not only did the lovely Ms.Lockwood take the honors in our online BOTM poll, but she really wentout of her way on the photos, which were taken by Brandon McAlister. Thephotos are downright professional and include props such as wrenches andtoolboxes, which are apparently hers. It's a sure thing that the qualityphotos didn't hurt Jessica's cause, so you wannabe BOTMs keep that inmind. It also didn't hurt that Jessica is a true Mustang fan.
"Unlike most of the girls in Babe of the Month, I'm posing on my ownMustang--a '95 5.0 with a lot of extras," Jessica says in her e-mail."I'm a Mustang lover; cars are my one passion in life. I would love tobe a Babe of the Month. Please let me know if you're interested; thankyou so much for your time."
Not only is a pretty girl who works on her Mustang a rarity, but it'salso rare to see someone giving an SN-95 5.0 the treatment it deserves.So far, she has added Flowmaster mufflers, Cobra wheels, loweringsprings, an FRPP King Cobra clutch, and a chip. She has a Pro-5.0shifter and long-tube headers ready to go, and hopes to make the move toa 351 with a super-charger in the future. Good luck, Jessica.
September 2007 - Samantha
Pete Castaldo says his girlfriend, Samantha, "loves Mustangs and can'twait to own another one; she's Pony-less right now. She still rides inmy car and enjoys going to the track." Of course, since Pete is ahardcore 5.0&SF reader, we can tell where his priorities are--he didn'ttell us much else about the lovely Samantha. He did have plenty to sayabout his Sonic Blue '03 Mustang GT. "Its the third Mustang I've ownedand I can't imagine getting rid of it. I bought it in June, and it wastotally stock. I have done everything myself--with the help of some goodfriends and a great tuner. It should be making about 380 rwhp and about400 rwtq."
To get there, Pete added a ProCharger P-1SC, an SCT Xcalibrator 2 withcustom tuning by Modular Madness, a DiabloSport MAFia, a BBK 75mmthrottle body, a C&L RPM intake plenum, a Flowmaster Amer-ican Thundersystem, an Auto Meter Cobalt, an AEM Wideband gauge, and much more. Nicework, Pete, but make sure you let Samantha know there's room for morethan Mustangs in your garage.
"Not only do I have a 5.0, but my brunette bombshell girlfriend LauraCunningham is there to wash and wax when needed," Johnny Burke says.Wow--a pretty girl that will wash your Mustang for you? She's a keeper,Johnny. Our online voters agreed, as Laura scored 61 percent of the votein our poll. He must want to keep her all to himself, as Johnny didn'tshare much more info about Laura. Who could blame him?
Of course, similar to most 5.0&SF readers, Johnny is more than happy totell us about his '86 Mustang GT. "It has 3.73 gears, BBK short-tubeheaders, Flowmasters, and a mass air meter. This car is basically stockbut this Pony scoots--and on occasion, gallops--down the street quitewell. It runs a 14.5 and has a unique color."

If any of you have seen that GM commercial disguised as the cool actionmovie, Transformers, you were no doubt entranced as the protagonist'slove interest begins talking like a car guy. Sure, she didn't know stackinjection from a double-pumper, but it sure looked and sounded sexy.That's just fantasy; Rory Duncan lives the reality.
"This is my fiance Amber. She's 21 and my little hottie! She's a carbuff and loves to work on the 'Stang. She helped with installation ofthe new intakes, clutch quadrant, lower control arms, and othermiscellaneous jobs on the car," Rory says. "She can handle the car well,too. Last pass at the track she ran a 13.20 at 106 out the door with nosecond gear and poor traction!"
You're a lucky man, Rory. Not just because of the lovely Amber, but yourcar sounds cool. It's common for guys to send in shots of their girlfriends and wivesnext to their Mustangs. Some guys even use BOTM as an opportunity totalk girls they know into swimwear. Whatever works for them works forus, but there's nothing quite like a lovely lady who sends in picturesof herself with her Mustang. A beautiful girl in a fast 'Stang is everyMustang guy's dream.

I'm a bartender at a college bar close to theUniversity of Iowa who likes to drive fast and put the top down and letmy hair blow in the wind."
